Abstract: 
We take a look at the purposes and causes of creating the aerospace system «Pegasus», the only one in operation at the moment. The fields of its application are considered. We give data about the engineering firms, about the cost of engineering and operation of the system, comparative characteristics of operative and prospective launchers of superlight and light classes.
