Abstract:
A possibility to apply the vector median filtering methods to joint processing of radar images is considered. It is shown that an approach based on two-stage filtering algorithms is efficient and allows one to take into account differences in multichannel radar image statistical characteristics and correlation properties of vector signals. The vector filter elaborated possesses edge-enhancing properties and permits elimination of the effect of false object edges caused by the errors of superimposing mutual radar images. The proposed filtering methods are analyzed on the basis of simulated and real multichannel radar images.
