Abstract:
We present some results of our comparison of the solar and geomagnetic activities and the magnetosphere energetics closely connected to them from the 19th to 23th and at the beginning of the 24th solar activity cycles. The quantity of the solar wind energy transported into the magnetosphere is estimated with the use of Σ (Н Sq) indices. Some increase of the geomagnetic disturbance recurrence at solar activity minimums is shown. The phenomenon was most pronounced from November 2007 till January 2009.
Keywords: activity cycles, geomagnetic disturbance, magnetosphere energetics, solar and geomagnetic activities
