Abstract: A biography and principal design projects and conceprions of Yuriy Vasylyovych Kondratyuk (O.G. Shargei) (June 21, 1897, Poltava - February 1942, unknown, possibly near Kaluga), an outstanding Ukrainian pioneer of astronautics and spaceflight, are described in details.
