Abstract:
A mathematical carbon cycle model for the Carpathian Region is built, with the relationship between neighbouring regions taken into account. Earth remote sensing data arc used for the determination of some model parameters. It is noted that the carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere is the controlling factor in the greenhouse effect at present. The structure of a specialized geoinformation system for estimating the carbon budget of the Carpathian Region is described.
