Abstract: 
The article describes the contribution of B.E. Paton, Director of the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute and the President of the NAS of Ukraine,  in the development of space science and technology on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its birth. B. E. Paton had and has inherent features of a constant search for new decision in solving complex scientific and technical problems and aspirations
to obtain world-class results in the scientific field, in particular, space science and technology.
