Abstract: Presented in this paper are results of estimation of effects of the ionization/acceleration chamber geometry and material upon the operability of plasma thrusters. The processes developing in the ionization/acceleration chamber are considered. Shown also the processes of formation of zones in the ionization/acceleration chamber, and the results of analyzing the effects of these processes on the thruster operability.
