Abstract: A local radio source at a wavelength of 10.5 cm in 11 August 1999 consisted of an increased radiation region above sunspots and of a more intensive interspots component with a brightness temperature of about 3·106 K. An emission region extended on height was found over the solar limb. The radio brightness of the region decreased from (226 ± 14) 103К for a height of 35·103 km down to (110 ± 6) ·103 К for a height of 180 103 km above the photosphere. Three different ways of solar radio radius measurements at a wavelength of 1.07 m gave agreed results, namely, Rd1.07 = (1.20 ± 0.05)Rȹ, which corresponds to the height of effectively radiating layer at metre wavelengths which is equal to h1.07 = (0.195 ± 0.03) Rȹ or (136 ± 21)·103 km. Therefore, the border of short-wave radio source was higher than the border of long-wave source, which is unusual.
